DEDICATED LOGISTIC OPERATION

One way in which we are committed to building long-term relationships is through the establishment of our Dedicated Logistic Operation (DLO).  This concept provides a means for completely outsourcing to McKenzie the transportation/distribution requirements at a specific plant site.

BENEFITS OF THE DLO

Expanded Communication

• Greater level of participation than in a normal carrier relationship.
• Broader and more in-depth insight into the plants short-term and long-term business. This insight will allow for the identification of cost saving opportunities and a more efficient operation.
• Open and fluent lines of communication with the customer service and production functions which increase the timeliness and accuracy of information.

Performance Measured

• Statistical process control techniques are used to develop Key Performance Indicators. The development of these indicators employs the use of Total Quality Management Concepts.    Examples of performance indicators include: 

1. Pickup and delivery of loads within scheduled windows of time
2. DLO response time to customer service
3. Number of customer complaints
4. Equipment availability
5. Various safety considerations
6. Utilization of driver hours
7. Monthly and annual monitoring of performance 
8. Daily meetings occurring at the plant level and regular meetings between partners held monthly or quarterly.      

SINGLE SOURCING CONCEPT

Through our single sourcing concept, McKenzie assumes the responsibility to coordinate all of the customers transportation needs.

BENEFITS OF SINGLE SOURCING

• Receives support through our Company Network Center which is staffed 24 hours a day with customer representatives.
• The customer and McKenzie develop an approved carrier list as backup to our strategically located tractor and truck fleet.
• Assuming responsibility for all your transportation needs allows for a reduction in man hours and administrative staff for customer.

McKenzie has had numerous experiences with this operational concept with several of our customers. The Dedicated Logistic Operation and Single Sourcing Concept can be simply described as an outsourced private trucking fleet.

CUSTOMER NETWORK CENTER

Our Company Network Center (CNC) was established in 1996.  Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it operates continually to better serve the need of our customers.  It is the CNC's responsibility to accept and process all orders customers tendered for bulk transportation.  Most importantly, the CNC serves as a liaison between our various internal company operational functions to ensure that our customers' needs and expectations are effectively being met.
